A Busboys and Poets event hosted this week by Orville Walker
Orville the Poet is Orville Walker Jr., one in the same. That’s why I don’t have a pen name or stage name, Orville the Poet is Orville the person. I’m a regular guy who happens to be observant and who was lent the great gift of words. Just trying to inspire those around me one poem at a time.
FEATURING: Eye-am-Bic
Angelo “Eye-Am-BIc” Geter is a dynamic spoken word poet and writer who is transforming into a household name. He is a multifaceted entertainer who uses his gifts and talents to educate, entertain and inspire. His work touches on a variety of issues including social justice, race, character and relationships just to name a few. Based out of Charlotte, NC he has toured across the country amassing several accolades during his poetry career. He is a member of the 2018 National Poetry Slam champions SlamCharlotte, Semifinalist at the 2012 National Poetry Slam, and former Southeastern Collegiate Poetry Slam Champion. In addition, he has been featured on Russell Simmons’ ‘All Def Poetry’, and shared the stage with Nikki Giovanni, Raheem Devaughn, Chrisette Michele and Black Ice among others. He is a strong voice for this generation seeking to push the art and the culture forward. His wordplay and electrifying performance will astound and amaze you.

For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.
$5 Cover. No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.
Seating is available on a first come, first seated basis. No saved or reserved seats are allowed. Failure to check in within 30 minutes of advertised start time may result in a forfeiture of seats.
