Description:

Why so serious?! If you are like us, you have found it hard to find things to laugh about. Working to change the world is grueling and daunting work, but the pursuit of happiness is what we are fighting for! So we are making time to LAUGH! Busboys and Poets is pleased to introduce COMEDY NIGHT in Takoma beginning on September 4th.

Come out and get your ribs tickled, massage your funny bone, slap a knee or two. Because LAUGHTER is an act of resistance!

Hosted by Allan Sidley:

Comedian, producer, and stay-at-home Son, Allan helped raise his single Mother on the mean streets of Vienna, VA. She's still a single Mother...in case whoever is reading this is interested in dating an older Jewish lady.

He recently featured at the DC Drafthouse, and was the opening act at the Laugh Index Festival (DC). Under his company Sidley Standup, he produces stand-up shows in the DMV.

About the Comedians:

Michael Furr: Adorably offensive but never grotesque, Michael Furr is Baltimore's sweetheart of comedy. An improv coach, performer and regular host at Magooby's Joke House, Michael's comedy is a mix of the relatable and the highly theatrical all told with a fabulous slant, a tongue pop, and the snap of a fan.

Reid Clark: The black Hippy you love to hate. Don't hate for long tho because this guy is here to share the laughs from Netflix, Amazon Prime and the Capital Fringe Festival.

Michael Moran: Mike co-hosts the Confessional Podcast, has written for several international publications (Skeptic Magazine, Skeptical Inquirer, co-hosted Mickey in the Afternoon on Q1370, and has performed with Creed Bratton, Chris D’elia, Michael Ian Black, Robert Klein, and more!

Leon Scott: Stand-up comedian. Writer. Sex symbol. Leon Scott wears many hats atop that curly head of his. Along with being a glistening beacon of supple beige masculinity, Leon writes jokes for the 6AM CBS TV show Get Up DC! hosted by Reese Waters on WUSA 9. Leon’s irreverent sense of humor has been featured on CBS, NPR, CNN, the Washington Post, The CW, and an ad for Hennessy of all places.

Natalie McGill: A D.C. based stand up comic who is an on-air correspondent and writer for the political satire show Redacted Tonighton RT America. She has opened for comics such as Judah Friedlander, Sasheer Zamata and Gilbert Gottfried, and has performed for the 2 Dope Queens podcast and District of Comedy Festival.

Wendy Wroblewski: A stand-up comedian and math tutor from Gaithersburg, Maryland. She performs comedy all over the Washington, DC area at places like The Kennedy Center, The DC Improv, Drafthouse Comedy Theater, and The Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse. She was a guest on the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, the Underground Comedy Festival, and the DC stop of the Betches of Comedy tour. You may have heard her voice as the live on-air host of the short-lived Comedy Central Radio Live on Sirius XM.

Seating is first come first served. Full menu & bar will be available throughout the event.
