Kids Under Fire is the latest investigation from Al Jazeera English’s award winning program, Fault Lines.
The war in Gaza has killed nearly 16,000 children since October 2023, most of whom have died in indiscriminate bombings. Yet a deeply unsettling subset of these deaths stands apart - children arriving at trauma centers with gunshot wounds.
Doctors in Gaza report seeing these cases nearly every day. Their accounts, corroborated across hospitals and over time, suggest a disturbing pattern. This is not random. It is systematic.
“Kids Under Fire” investigates these atrocities through the testimonies of healthcare workers who witnessed them.
Journalist and podcaster Briahana Joy Gray will moderate a post film discussion with the filmmakers: Josh Rushing and Amel Guettatfi
Josh Rushing is a founding member of Al Jazeera English and the Emmy-winning senior correspondent for Fault Lines. Amel Guettatfi is an Emmy-winning filmmaker that specializes in the Middle East and Africa. She was the first Western journalist to embed with the Wagner Group in Africa.
The panel will also include Charles Blaha who retired from the US State Department after 32 years of service. One of his last assignments included overseeing the Israel Leahy Vetting Forum.
The panel will be rounded out by a TBD doctor who has volunteered in a hospital in Gaza.
