Description:

Celebrating Maryland's Diverse Creativity with a Spoken Word and Poetry Slam at Busboys and Poets! Get ready to experience an electrifying afternoon filled with raw emotions, powerful words, and captivating performances by Youth in the Arts. Pre-Selected students ages 13 to 18 will perform original literary pieces in front of a live audience on February 17th, 12-3pm. Monetary prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place performers as determined by a panel of Celebrity Judges:

"Sistah Joy" Matthews Alford, Prince George's County Poet Laureate Emerita (2018-2023)
