Description:

Authored by former Hunger Project staff leader Cathy Burke, the book chronicles Badiul’s extraordinary life and his groundbreaking efforts to empower millions toward self-reliance in Bangladesh. It takes readers behind the scenes, exploring the development of key initiatives that have driven change, while offering profound insights and encouragement for change-makers everywhere.

His success ignited grassroots change and leadership that centered millions of village women, men, and young people, giving them a voice in shaping the future. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or new to the cause, we hope you can join Badiul and Cathy for this unique opportunity to engage with the ideas and experiences that have changed a nation and inspired the world.

TODAY I SAW A REVOLUTION explores how Badiul mobilized the largest movement to end hunger in Bangladesh, finding a way to break through the mindsets of despair and dependency that gripped the country.

Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar is joining us on the Busboys stage alongside author Cathy Burke to share more about Dr. Majumdar’s legacy and how his life shows that everyone has the potential to rise up and unshackle themselves from despair and resignation. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during and after the event, and Dr. Majumdar and Burke will be signing following the program.

This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Copies of TODAY I SAW A REVOLUTION will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is in person and will not be livestreamed.

We ask that guests RSVP in order to receive direct updates about the event from Busboys and Poets Books
