Description:

Bibliotherapy is a therapeutic approach that harnesses the wisdom within literature to aid individuals in their healing journey. It involves the use of books, poetry, and written materials to support individuals in navigating emotional and psychological challenges. Bibliotherapy facilitates self-discovery by encouraging individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, and personal narratives within the context of carefully selected literary works.

This first Bibliotherapy session at Busboys and Poets will focus on All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks. It is crafted to reach Black women and integrates the concepts of the book into practical discussions that will increase their self-awareness, coping mechanisms, and perspectives on how to navigate life, but is of course open to all who are interested!

Unique Jordan and Desiree Roberts will be facilitating a therapeutic discussion of ALL ABOUT LOVE at Busboys and Poets as a community forum. Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event. Please note that this event is IN PERSON and will NOT be livestreamed.

We ask that guests RSVP in order to receive direct updates about the event from Busboys and Poets Books.
