Film screening and discussion with Palestinian activist-filmmaker Basel Adra & international human rights lawyer Emily Schaeffer Omer-Man
Just before he walks the red carpet as a 2025 Oscar-nominated co-director and subject of the film, No Other Land, Basel Adra will stop in D.C. to join longtime fellow activist and colleague, Attorney Emily Schaeffer Omer-Man. The two will present the film in an exclusive Busboys screening, followed by a discussion about the making of the film, its journey as it collected awards in film festivals around the world with the ongoing destruction of Gaza, and a legal and political analysis of the current situation on the ground in his home in the South Hebron Hills/Masafer Yatta and the West Bank generally—the latest focus of Israel's ongoing assault on Palestinian lives and land.
Basel and Emily will then share stories about their joint work to hold corporations accountable worldwide for their complicity in these human rights violations, why it gives them hope, and how you can be involved.
Q & A will follow
