Description:

The Persian New Year also known as NoRooz is rooted in Zoroastrianism, an ancient monotheistic religion.

NoRooz literally means “new day” and marks the vernal equinox and the return of spring. It is celebration of rebirth, new beginning, hope and time of great spiritual renewal.

Also, it is a celebration of the nature.

NoRooz is associated with the story of Jamshid, a mythical Persian king who ascended to the throne and brought culture and hope to the people. The legend has it that Jamshid was commanded by a Zoroastrian deity to battle Ahriman, who stood for darkness. Jamshid defeated Ahriman and brought light, prosperity and new life to the kingdom.
