Description:

At the heart of BRIDGE OVER AGGRAVATED TROUBLES is the desire to speak truth about what the world is, and how it has been experienced by a man that has been hailed for his vision and insight as a prophet, a healer, a teacher, a preacher, and a revolutionary.

The journey experienced in crossing these engaging, challenging moments detailed is a journey that touches on many aspects of what is possible for anyone, and provides guidance on how to receive them, interpret them, and a way to move across to a life of peace and fulfillment.

Brenardo the Sing Song Poet is joining us on the Busboys stage alongside Prince George’s County Poet Laureate Emerita, Sistah Joy Mathews Alfred, to celebrate this brilliant collection and share more about the themes and experiences explored in his poetry. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during and after the event, and Brenardo will be signing following the program.

This event is free and open to all. Our program begins at 6:00 pm, and will be followed by an audience Q&A. Copies of BRIDGE OVER AGGRAVATED TROUBLES will be available for purchase before and after the event. Please note that this event is in person and will not be livestreamed.

We ask that guests RSVP in order to receive direct updates about the event from Busboys and Poets Books

Brenardo the Sing Song Poet is a lyrical adventurer of word and sound. The poems he brings to the fore, show his versatility as a ‘Page Plus Performance Poet’. He has been writing poetry incorporating his own unique view of creativity through musicality in word for over two thirds of his life. His poems speak to spirituality, civil rights, human development, compassion, peace, and progress.

A veteran of the United States Navy, and a veteran of stage, radio, and television Brenardo has presented his work in several of those venues, and others such as, festivals, universities, grade schools, coffee houses, and assorted other public and private events. This includes international stages as well such as South Africa, Jamaica, and Cuba.

His written words have graced countless newspapers, magazines, and poetry anthologies in print and online.

Mentored by the late Dolores Kendrick, former ‘Poet Laureate for the District of Columbia he has grown into a tour de force, alumnus of the Anointed P.E.N.S., and was one of the four poets selected as ‘Poet Of Excellence’ for Prince Georges County in 2020. In 2008 he was a co-founder, and administrator for ‘Poets and Artists for Obama’, using his skills to support the former president. Currently he is a member of the renowned poetry troupe Collective Voices &, and a free-lance Poet.

Recently releasing “Bridge Over Aggravated Troubles”; a book he says is in line with his mission to uplift humanity, providing guidance, information, and hope, Brenardo continues to evolve in his gift of the word.

He may be contacted @ deotp123@gmail to order a copy of his book, or for more information at his availability @ performing.
