Set the World on Fire with Busboys and Poets Books
14th & V | Langston Room | June 6, 2018 | 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Join Busboys and Poets Books as we welcome Christopher Petrella, Director of Advocacy & Strategic Partnerships at American University’s Antiracist Research & Policy Center, as he talks with Keisha N. Blain about her new book, Set the World on Fire: Black Nationalist Women and the Global Struggle for Freedom (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2018). Drawing on a variety of previously untapped sources, including newspapers, government records, songs, and poetry, Set the World on Fire highlights the flexibility, adaptability, and experimentation of black women leaders who demanded equal recognition and participation in global civil society.
