Haiti Open Mic Night Fundraiser

To raise money for the devastation in Haiti, local artists came together for a phenomenal and emotional open mic night at Busboys & Poets on 14th street. Among the performances, community members presented statistics and moving stories of despair, hope and the will to survive. Hosted by 93.9 WKYS’s DJ QuickSilva, the event included performances by Making The Band’s D’Angela Redman and poet Benny Blaq.  Co-sponsored by the TransAfrica Forum and with a suggested donation of at least $10, the benefit raised over $2000* for Haiti.

Hey! Is there anyway someone at Busboys can connect me with Amara Woods from the Haiti benefit? I’m trying to do a story, and I liked what she said about Haiti.

    Thanks so much.
