HAPPY BIRTHDAY… Progressive Democrats of America
Tonight the Progressive Democrats of America are out in force on Capitol Hill pushing members of Congress to support health care reform – specifically to rally for Single Payer Heathcare. Its hard to imagine that the Pentagon is getting money thrown at them (‘The Democratic-controlled House is poised to give the Pentagon dozens of new ships, planes, helicopters and armored vehicles that Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates says the military does not need to fund next year… Washington Post 7/30/09), while healthcare is seen as a luxury and cannot be funded by the government.
Earlier today I was listening to C-SPAN where most of the callers were seniors. They indicated their distaste for “socialized medicine” and very upset about government being involved in the healthcare delivery system. Then they added that they are very happy with their Medicare!! Who is feeding these people their talking points?
