Q: What type of artwork do you display in your spaces?
A: We look for art that reflects elements of our tribal statement and challenges the status quo, with a preference for artists with a large body of work that is already framed and presentable. Read more here.

Q: I saw a piece that I loved at Busboys and Poets! Who is the artist who created it?
A: Try looking in our Current, Past and Permanent exhibits archive to see if you can locate the artist who created it. If you couldn't located it, email art@busboysandpoets.com

Q: How do I purchase artwork on display at Busboys and Poets?
A: All sales of artwork are facilitated directly through the artists. Pick-up can be arranged once the show is de-installed at Busboys and Poets. Can't find the contact for the artist whose work you admired? E-mail art@busboysandpoets.com

Q: How often do you rotate the artwork at Busboys and Poets?
A: Approximately twice per year, or once every six months.

Q: How much of a commission does Busboys and Poets take from sale of artwork?
A: None! Artists keep 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their artwork.

Q: If my art is not selected for display, what other opportunities do you offer for visual artists?
A: On the first Friday of every month, Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville hosts a series for visual and performing artists to discuss their artwork, career, process and inspirations. First Fridays is free and open to the public, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, and features 3-5 artists each month.
